STEAM Teacher – Wazzan Educational Services

General Responsibilities

The STEAM Teacher is responsible for delivering planned lessons and STEAM activities, maintaining effective classroom management, supervising and supporting students, facilitating hands-on learning experiences, monitoring student engagement and progress, and providing the necessary support to maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.

Specific Responsibilities

The STEM Teacher actively instructs students, creates lesson plans, assigns and grades homework, manages students in the classroom and helps prepare students for standardized tests.

• Delivering planned lessons and learning activities in accordance with the provided curriculum and lesson plans.
• Maintaining effective classroom management and a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Facilitating classroom activities, projects, experiments, and hands-on STEAM learning experiences.
• Adapting activities and instructional approaches to meet students’ diverse learning needs.
• Adapt teaching for individual students, small groups, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of identified students or subgroups of students
• Evaluate the academic and social growth of students
• Evaluate student progress and the ability to meet courses standards in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior
• Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day
• Offer rigorous learning experiences where students are doing the majority of the thinking
• Engage in weekly coaching sessions to improve their craft
• Innovate and create STEM- based learning experiences for students
• Monitoring student participation, progress, and behavior, and providing appropriate feedback.
• Assessing and documenting student learning, where required.
• Ensuring classroom routines, procedures, and expectations are consistently followed.
• Collaborating with teachers and relevant staff to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of learning.
• Supporting students with their academic, social, and behavioral needs as appropriate.
• Ensuring the safe and responsible use of STEAM equipment, materials, and resources.
• Maintaining a safe, organized, and productive classroom environment.
• Completing any required classroom records, reports, or follow-up tasks.
• Providing any other reasonable support required to ensure the effective operation of the classroom and continuity of student learning.
