Technical Assistant – Al-Yasra Group
We are looking for a skilled Technical Assistant (Carpenter) to join our Projects & Property team in the retail fashion industry. You will keep our stores in excellent condition and deliver carpentry work that reflects our brand, working with internal teams, vendors, and contractors in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
– Carry out carpentry repairs, installations, and maintenance of doors, cabinets, shelves, furniture, and display fixtures
– Measure, cut, assemble, and install wooden materials to specification
– Inspect, identify defects, and recommend repair or replacement
– Assist with store construction and renovation projects, from planning and material procurement to implementation
– Work with the design team to deliver store layouts and custom carpentry that match brand standards
– Order and manage carpentry materials and tools cost-effectively
– Coordinate with store managers, project managers, vendors, and contractors
– Follow work orders, support general maintenance when required, and comply with health and safety procedures and PPE requirements
– Minimize disruption to customers while working in stores
Qualifications and Experience
– High school diploma; a vocational qualification in carpentry is preferred
– Several years of carpentry, woodworking, or building maintenance experience, ideally in retail or commercial projects
– Ability to read work instructions and technical drawings
– Relevant carpentry or contractor’s license, if required by local laws
