Procurement Engineer – National Contracting Co Ltd

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Engineer to join our dynamic team in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process for various engineering projects, ensuring that all materials and services are acquired in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, supply chain management, and vendor relationship management. As a Procurement Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgets. You will work closely with project managers and engineers to assess project needs and develop procurement strategies that align with project timelines and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project requirements and budget constraints.
  2. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  4. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  5. Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand material and service needs.
  6. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and industry trends.
  7. Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders and contracts.
  8. Resolve any procurement-related issues and disputes with suppliers promptly.
  9. Assist in the development of project budgets by providing accurate cost estimates for materials and services.
  10. Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer or in a similar role within the electrical construction (Substation, Overhead Transmission Line & Under Ground cable).
  2. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess supplier capabilities and project needs.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  6. Proficient in procurement software and tools for tracking and managing orders.
  7. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
  8. Experience in cost analysis and budget management.
  9. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Strong ethical standards and commitment to responsible sourcing practices.
