Pastry And Bakery Chef – Educational Institute

EPG School is excited to announce an opening for a Pastry and Bakery Chef to join our dedicated culinary team in Kuwait. This role is essential in providing our students and staff with high-quality baked goods, including cakes, croissants, and various pastries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for baking and a commitment to maintaining high standards of taste, freshness, and presentation. Working during the hours of 4 PM to 4 AM, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills and creativity while adhering to food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and breads, ensuring each item meets the school’s high standards for taste and presentation.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following strict hygiene and food safety compliance guidelines.
  3. Innovate and contribute new pastry ideas, experimenting with flavors and techniques to keep the menu fresh and exciting for students and staff.
  4. Monitor inventory levels, ensuring that all baking supplies are stocked and ordered as needed to prevent any disruptions in production.
  5. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of baked goods for school events and functions.
  6. Engage with students and staff to gather feedback on baked goods, adapting recipes and offerings based on their preferences.
  7. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff on baking techniques and best practices to foster a supportive learning environment.
  8. Participate in the development of seasonal menus and special event offerings, showcasing creativity and culinary expertise.
  9. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely and efficiently.
  10. Assist in budgeting for baking supplies while maximizing quality and creativity in all baked products.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a high-volume kitchen, ideally in an educational or institutional setting.
  2. Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry arts, with a focus on quality and presentation.
  3. Creative mindset with the ability to design innovative and visually appealing pastries and desserts.
  4. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a diverse team environment.
  6. Ability to adapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences of students.
  7. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality baked goods consistently.
