Mechanical Construction Engineer
Basic Scope of Job:
Construction Engineer – Mechanical with hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating Mechanical/Piping/Pipeline construction activities, Testing & commissioning, ensuring installation works are executed safely on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, codes, and client standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical, piping and pipeline construction activities, including installation of equipment, piping, supports, and associated mechanical systems.
- Review approved-for-construction drawings, method statements, procedures, material specifications, and technical documents prior to site execution.
- Ensure all mechanical, piping and pipeline works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, CP, instrumentation, QA/QC, HSE, and other disciplines to resolve site interfaces and construction issues.
- Monitor site progress, manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to ensure achievement of project schedules and construction targets.
- Coordinate with Contractor Key personnel to accelerate the progress & to provide adequate resources. Also, monitor construction progress in line with approved program of work.
- Provide technical support and resolve site queries, field changes, clashes, and construction-related issues in coordination with engineering and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, company policies, and safe construction practices at all times.
- Coordinate material receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance, and verify that materials and equipment comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
- Support QA/QC activities including inspections, test records, punch listing, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and handover documentation.
- Participate in construction meetings, progress reviews, site inspections, audits, and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and maintain construction reports, progress updates, red-line markups, as-built information, and other project documentation as required.
