Maintenance Technician (Restaurants)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in the restaurant sector. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and conducting repairs. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining equipment and systems that are crucial to our restaurant operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct routine inspections of restaurant facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
2. Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
3. Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions, including ovens, fryers, refrigerators, and other essential kitchen appliances.
4. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management to address urgent issues and minimize operational disruptions.
5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
6. Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance services as needed.
7. Assist in training restaurant staff on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting techniques.
8. Ensure that all maintenance work complies with health and safety standards and company policies.
9. Participate in regular team meetings to discuss maintenance challenges and propose solutions to improve operational efficiency.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in maintenance practices to continually enhance skills and knowledge.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a restaurant or similar environment, demonstrating a track record of successful repairs and maintenance.
2. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality workmanship in all tasks.
4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a collaborative team player.
5. Good communication skills to interact with staff and management effectively, providing clear updates on maintenance status.
6. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate restaurant operational needs.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to maintenance and equipment operation.
8. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
9. Willingness to learn new skills and techniques related to maintenance and repair.
10. Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems is a plus.
