Estimation Engineer – Bilfinger

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimation Engineer to join our dynamic team in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of estimation processes, project management, and cost analysis. As an Estimation Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our project teams by providing accurate estimates for various projects, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and aligned with the company’s financial objectives. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to develop comprehensive estimates that reflect the scope of work and project requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and prepare detailed cost estimates for oil and gas projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
2. Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
3. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary data for accurate estimation.
4. Maintain and update a database of historical cost data to improve future estimates.
5. Conduct risk assessments and provide contingency estimates to mitigate potential cost overruns.
6. Prepare and present estimation reports to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in all financial aspects.
7. Participate in bid preparation and proposal submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
8. Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
9. Support the procurement team in evaluating supplier quotes and negotiating contracts.
10. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance estimation accuracy.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience as an Estimation Engineer or in a similar role within the oil and gas sector.
2. Strong understanding of estimation software and tools, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
7. Professional certification in cost estimation or project management is a plus.
8. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
9. Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
10. Commitment to safety and compliance in all project activities.
