Sourcing Specialist – Kuwait Drilling Fluids & Oil Services
The Sourcing Specialist supports the Supply Chain Division by identifying, evaluating, developing, and maintaining reliable local and international suppliers, with a focus on oilfield chemicals, drilling-fluid materials, and industrial products. The role supports commercial analysis and procurement activities to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and strategically aligned sourcing decisions.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to below:
- Identify, evaluate, prequalify, and develop reliable local and international suppliers for Oil & Gas, chemicals, and industrial materials.
- Source drilling-fluid chemicals and raw materials, including Barite, Bentonite, Limestone, and other oilfield chemicals/additives.
- Conduct supplier benchmarking, market research, commodity pricing, and commercial analysis to support sourcing and negotiation decisions.
- Evaluate and compare supplier quotations, including pricing, payment terms, lead times, delivery conditions, and commercial terms.
- Maintain supplier databases and historical pricing information, including supplier capabilities, certifications, lead times, and performance.
- Support commercial negotiations through market intelligence, pricing trends, supplier benchmarks, and alternative sourcing options.
- Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, reliability, responsiveness, and commercial compliance.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, alternative sourcing, supply reliability, and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Operations, Technical, Warehouse, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure timely sourcing.
- Support sourcing and procurement documentation, supplier evaluations, and commercial comparisons.
- Maintain a proactive, analytical, structured, and commercially focused approach to supplier development and sourcing.
- Ensure all activities are conducted with integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for pricing and commercial analysis; ERP/procurement system experience is an advantage.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Vendor Development, or Supply Chain.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, chemicals, manufacturing, industrial materials, or technical procurement is strongly preferred.
- Experience sourcing oilfield chemicals, drilling-fluid materials, minerals, or industrial raw materials is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of supplier prequalification, commercial evaluation, quotation analysis, supplier benchmarking, pricing analysis, and vendor performance management.
- Strong analytical, commercial, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
