Senior Tendering & Estimation Engineer (MEP)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering activities related to MEP projects, including tendering, estimation, planning, and project execution support.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of competitive technical and commercial proposals.
- Lead and coordinate the estimation team to ensure timely preparation and submission of accurate and competitive tenders.
- Allocate tender assignments, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of tender submissions.
- Review and provide guidance on estimates prepared by the estimation team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract conditions to identify project scope, risks, and commercial opportunities.
- Prepare and review detailed project cost estimates covering materials, manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs.
- Develop pricing strategies and provide commercial recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Provide technical and managerial leadership to project engineers, supervisors, and site teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful project completion.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Commercial, and Project teams to ensure accurate and competitive submissions.
- Review supplier and subcontractor quotations, negotiate where required, and ensure cost competitiveness.
- Monitor quantities, productivity rates, and costing methodologies to maintain estimate accuracy.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and propose cost-effective technical alternatives.
- Prepare project cost analyses, tender comparison reports, budgets, and management presentations.
- Support contract negotiations, project mobilization, and smooth handover to execution teams after project award.
- Conduct post-tender and post-project reviews to improve estimating accuracy and operational performance.
- Maintain and update cost databases, market rates, supplier records, and historical project information.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support business growth.
- Provide technical guidance, leadership, and mentoring to engineering teams while ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements.
- Work closely with senior management on business development initiatives, project strategy, risk assessment, commercial planning, and resource management.
