Project Manager – Overhead Transmission Line – National Contracting Co Ltd

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager specializing in Overhead Transmission Line projects to join our team in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex engineering projects, particularly in the energy sector. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of overhead transmission line projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead project planning sessions to define scope, objectives, and deliverables for overhead transmission line projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
2. Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to facilitate project execution, ensuring all parties are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Monitor project progress and performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track and within budget.
4. Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
5. Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring financial accountability throughout the project.
6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, fostering a culture of safety within the project team and among contractors.
7. Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to identify potential project risks and establish mitigation strategies.
8. Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effectively address any project challenges.
9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project outcomes and identifying areas for enhancement in future projects.
10. Mentor and develop junior project staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience in managing overhead transmission line projects, with a strong understanding of engineering principles and project management methodologies.
2. Previous experience with 132kV & 400kV OHTL projects
3. Membership with Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) is must.
4. PMP certification is an added advantage.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams to achieve their best performance.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions to project challenges.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
8. Proficiency in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of financial management principles.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
10. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex project dynamics.
11. Commitment to safety and quality, with a track record of ensuring compliance with industry standards.
12. Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable.
13. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
