Procurement Manager – The British School of Kuwait

The Procurement Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that the school operates efficiently by overseeing the procurement process for all necessary supplies and services. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the school’s objectives.
  2. Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
  3. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
  4. Monitor market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  5. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to procurement.
  6. Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support.
  7. Prepare and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  8. Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and implement improvement plans as necessary.
  9. Train and mentor staff on procurement policies and procedures.
  10. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on procurement activities and outcomes.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience in procurement management, preferably in the education sector.
  2. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  3. Ability to analyze data and market trends effectively.
  4. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  5. Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Commitment to ethical procurement practices.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster relationships with stakeholders.
  10. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
