Planning Engineer
The Planning Engineer is a vital role within the business support services sector, particularly focused on the successful planning and execution of infrastructure, construction, ICT, or ELV projects. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive project plans. The Planning Engineer will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project objectives are met within the defined timelines and budgets. A successful candidate will have a strong educational background in engineering, coupled with substantial hands-on experience in project planning and scheduling, particularly using Primavera P6.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project schedules and timelines using Primavera P6 to ensure efficient project execution.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather and analyze data necessary for effective planning and forecasting.
- Monitor project progress against established timelines and budgets, identifying any potential delays or issues.
- Prepare and present regular reports on project status, performance metrics, and forecasts to stakeholders.
- Assist in resource allocation and budgeting processes to optimize project performance.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential project risks.
- Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Review and analyze project proposals and contracts to ensure feasibility and compliance.
- Implement industry best practices in project planning and management to enhance efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of planning processes.
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in civil engineering, construction management, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience with Primavera P6 (latest versions).
- Prior experience working on projects in Kuwait or the regional area.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery in relevant sectors.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in project management.
