Furniture Product Designer – Infinity HR Consultancy
The Furniture Product Designer is responsible for developing innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing furniture designs that align with the company’s product strategy and client requirements. This role combines creative design vision with technical manufacturing knowledge, ensuring that each concept can be efficiently produced by the factory using available materials and machinery.
The designer will prepare 2D and 3D drawings, detailed production specifications, and collaborate closely with the production, upholstery, and finishing teams to bring designs from concept to reality.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Create new furniture concepts, collections, and custom designs according to client or project briefs.
- Produce detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and renderings using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, or SolidWorks.
- Prepare material specifications, joinery details, and finishing requirements for each design.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure feasibility, cost-efficiency, and accuracy of manufacturing.
- Revise and adjust designs based on feedback from management, clients, or production supervisors.
Technical Coordination
- Translate design concepts into clear, production-ready drawings for carpentry, upholstery, and finishing departments.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to confirm the availability of materials, fabrics, and accessories required for each product.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure the correct proportions, ergonomics, and construction methods.
- Maintain an organized design library including sketches, materials, and reference samples.
Innovation & Quality
- Stay updated on design trends, new materials, and production techniques in furniture and interior design.
- Develop new product lines that reflect modern styles while remaining functional and durable.
- Support prototype development and monitor the first production runs to ensure design integrity.
Team Collaboration
- Work hand-in-hand with the Operations Manager and General Manager to align designs with client expectations and production capacities.
- Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to provide renderings and visuals for client presentations or catalogues.
