Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer position in Kuwait is a vital role within the heavy industry and metallurgy sector, focusing on high tension transformers of 11,000 KV and above. This position requires a seasoned professional with a robust background in electrical engineering, particularly in installation, testing, maintenance, commissioning, and operation of high voltage systems. The ideal candidate will not only have technical expertise but also a thorough understanding of local industry standards and specifications, particularly those set by KOC, KNPC, MEW, and MPW.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the installation and commissioning of high tension transformers, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
2. Conduct thorough testing and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
3. Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement electrical engineering solutions for heavy machinery.
4. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including testing reports and maintenance logs.
5. Ensure adherence to KOC, KNPC, MEW, and MPW specifications throughout all engineering activities.
6. Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
7. Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, implementing effective solutions promptly.
8. Participate in safety audits and ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations.
9. Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering technologies and practices.
10. Assist in the development of project budgets and timelines related to electrical systems.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. 8 to 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically with high tension transformers.
3. Strong familiarity with KOC, KNPC, MEW, and MPW specifications and standards.
4. Arab nationals with a transferable visa are preferred.
5. Proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
