Customs Clearance Professional – Afaq United

We are looking for a dedicated Customs Clearance Professional to join our esteemed recruitment and employee placement agency in Al Kuwait. This position plays a critical role in managing the customs clearance process for our clients, ensuring that all shipments comply with local and international regulations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of solid experience as a Customs Clearance Broker in Kuwait, demonstrating a thorough understanding of customs laws and practices. Your expertise will be vital in preparing and submitting the necessary documentation, liaising with customs authorities, and resolving any issues that may arise during the clearance process. You will also be responsible for advising clients on compliance matters and helping them navigate the complexities of customs regulations. This role requires a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, as you will be interacting with various stakeholders, including clients, shipping companies, and customs officials.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and submit all necessary customs documentation for both import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with Kuwaiti and international regulations.
2. Act as a liaison between clients and customs officials to facilitate the timely clearance of goods and resolve any issues that may arise.
3. Maintain current knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements to provide accurate guidance to clients.
4. Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding of customs processes and requirements.
5. Conduct audits of customs documentation and procedures to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
6. Assist clients in resolving customs-related issues, including tariff classification and compliance inquiries.
7. Monitor the status of shipments and proactively manage potential delays in customs clearance.
8. Train and mentor junior staff on customs procedures and best practices to enhance team capabilities.
9. Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to streamline customs operations and improve efficiency.
10. Prepare reports and maintain accurate records related to customs activities for compliance and auditing purposes.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Male candidates are preferred for this role.
2. Must be a university graduate with a degree relevant to customs or logistics.
3. A minimum of four years of solid experience as a Customs Clearance Broker in Kuwait is required.
4. Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and in correspondence, are essential for effective interaction with clients and customs officials.
5. Must possess a valid and transferable Kuwaiti residency.
6. The candidate should be available to work office hours from Sunday to Thursday, 9 AM to 5 PM (with a lunch break), and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.
7. Salary will be based on the candidate’s aptitude and experience.
8. A probation period of three months will be required prior to residency transfer.
9. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage but not mandatory.
10. Professional certification in customs clearance or related fields is preferred.
