Captain Waiter

Responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for customers through delivering friendly and efficient services to ensure retaining and attracting customers and maximize their satisfaction.

  • Welcome customers and escort them to their tables promptly to increase customer’s satisfaction.
  • Set up the dining area which includes: Preparing tables by setting up different items including but not limited to: Linens, silverware, and glassware, in addition to constantly filling salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
  • Present menus to customers and explain how various items are prepared, specify ingredients and describe cooking methods, in addition to informing customers about the menu specials.
  • Answer all customers’ questions in a friendly manner and make recommendations pertaining to the menu items upon request.
  • Write customers’ orders on order slips, or record orders on electric devices (If applicable) for rapid and efficient transmittal and communication of orders to the kitchen staff.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to deliver customers’ orders in a timely manner and check back with customers during the meal for any additional requests.
  • Monitor and observe customers dining experience to ensure providing high quality of food and services, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Perform accurate processing of bills and itemize (detail) the total cost of the meal, present the same to customers, and collect payments.
  • Clear the dining area and send all items (Linens, dishes, glasses, containers, etc.) to the kitchen for cleaning.
  • Adhere to the cleaning and tasks schedule which include, ‘Line Check’ and ‘NCO’ (Neat, Clean & Orderly) activities such as checking temperatures and working conditions of kitchen equipment, cleaning food preparation areas, sanitizing stations, cleaning out trash, washing hands etc. for hygiene purposes and efficient cleanliness.
  • Assist fellow servers with taking orders, clearing and resetting tables, as needed.
  • Perform ad-hoc and other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.
