Senior Tendering & Estimation Engineer (MEP)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering activities related to MEP projects, including tendering, estimation, planning, and project execution support.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of competitive technical and commercial proposals.
  • Lead and coordinate the estimation team to ensure timely preparation and submission of accurate and competitive tenders.
  • Allocate tender assignments, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of tender submissions.
  • Review and provide guidance on estimates prepared by the estimation team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract conditions to identify project scope, risks, and commercial opportunities.
  • Prepare and review detailed project cost estimates covering materials, manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs.
  • Develop pricing strategies and provide commercial recommendations to support management decision-making.
  • Provide technical and managerial leadership to project engineers, supervisors, and site teams.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful project completion.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Commercial, and Project teams to ensure accurate and competitive submissions.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotations, negotiate where required, and ensure cost competitiveness.
  • Monitor quantities, productivity rates, and costing methodologies to maintain estimate accuracy.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and propose cost-effective technical alternatives.
  • Prepare project cost analyses, tender comparison reports, budgets, and management presentations.
  • Support contract negotiations, project mobilization, and smooth handover to execution teams after project award.
  • Conduct post-tender and post-project reviews to improve estimating accuracy and operational performance.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, market rates, supplier records, and historical project information.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support business growth.
  • Provide technical guidance, leadership, and mentoring to engineering teams while ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements.
  • Work closely with senior management on business development initiatives, project strategy, risk assessment, commercial planning, and resource management.
