About the job

The Category Head is responsible for outlining the responsibility for a product group’s strategy, sales, and profitability, involving market analysis, supplier negotiation, pricing, promotion, inventory, and cross-functional collaboration with Marketing & Retail to meet business goals, drive growth, and optimize performance.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

Management:

  • Provides focus and a sense of direction for the products’ management teams.
  • Maintain and carry out the products’ goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage related budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability for the category.
  • Oversee the marketing financial and budgetary activities related to the designated products.
  • Analyze the management report for an effective and efficient stock management system.
  • Analyze the financial statements, reports, and other performance indicators to provide the necessary feedback and recommendations.
  • Endeavor to develop and succeed in maintaining the appropriate products and company image that strives towards excellence in satisfying customers.
  • Develop quantified M.B.O. plans for the direct subordinates and ensure that the process propagates through all levels.
  • To maintain viable and healthy relations with strategic accounts, business partners, and related parties.

Technical:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions focused on products’ products and values.

Product Inventory, Sales and Customer Service:

  • Oversee product assortment, ensure stock levels, manage lifecycle (new introductions/exits), and optimize distribution
  • Develop and maintain products’ price lists for retail and corporate sales.
  • Collaborate on campaigns, set pricing, drive demand generation, and ensure product visibility.

Marketing and Product Representation:

  • Represent the products with integrity and excellence.
  • Collaborate with the marketing teams to enhance products’ visibility.
  • Actively participate in products’ events and functions.
  • Network and build relationships within the target market.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and chronic benchmarking to maintain awareness of market trends.
