Accountant – Mohamed N. Al Hajery and Sons Co. LTD

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze financial data effectively. The Accountant will work closely with various departments to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and assisting with audits. Your expertise will help us to enhance our financial performance and ensure that we meet our financial goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
3. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
4. Expertly perform accounts reconciliation, particularly concerning banks, suppliers, and retail outlet collections.
5. Collaborate with banks to troubleshoot any banking issues that may arise, ensuring smooth financial operations.
6. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and reporting on financial performance.
7. Deliver reconciliation for delivery companies such as Talabat, Deliveroo, Cari, and Tap Payment, ensuring accuracy in transactions.
8. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist with tax filings.
9. Maintain the general ledger and reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis.
10. Prepare detailed financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Holds a professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
3. Demonstrates a minimum of 3 years of experience with reputed companies, specifically with a good ERP system.
4. Exhibits strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work with large data sets.
5. Possesses advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
6. Shows strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
7. Is proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
8. Demonstrates a strong understanding of local tax laws and accounting regulations.
9. Exhibits excellent communication skills in English, regardless of nationality.
10. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry trends.
