Head Department MEP – Damac Alkhalejia General Trading & Contracting Co.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head of Department for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) to lead our engineering team in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all MEP operations, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in MEP engineering, project management, and team leadership. The Head of Department will collaborate closely with other departments, clients, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage the MEP department, ensuring effective team performance and professional development.
2. Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of all MEP systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
3. Develop and implement departmental strategies and goals aligned with the company’s objectives.
4. Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
5. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to integrate MEP systems into overall project designs.
6. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure quality control.
7. Prepare and review technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and drawings.
8. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team and other departments.
9. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in MEP engineering.
10. Foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and innovation within the department.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience in a leadership role within the MEP engineering field, preferably in a similar industry.
2. Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
3. Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams.
5. Ability to think strategically and make sound decisions under pressure.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges effectively.
7. Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
8. Proficiency in relevant software tools and project management applications.
9. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
10. A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or a related field, along with relevant certifications.
